Another one Newsletter – 07/07/2020
It has been long since we kept you updated with our monthly briefing on how we develop our venture. Of course, and as you may have already guessed the outbreak of the covid-19 epidemic, has led many of us to recalibrate our developmental and production strategies, and although we are one of the enterprises heavily impacted by the restrictions imposed globally, we remained as professionally active as possible. Thus, we would like to inform you on our latest news and achievements.
On June 22nd and 23rd, 2020, Creators of Cosmos S.M.P.C participated in the online transnational seminar, designed and presented by Pôle Culture & Patrimoines (Arles, France), within the context of the SMATH (Smart atmospheres of social and financial innovation for innovative clustering of creative industries in MED area) program.
The SMATH project has been organized under the Interreg Mediterranean framework, to generate innovative clusters, where cultural engines (the cultural core of heritage, values, traditions and cultural processes) and the value enhancing services (incubators, financial services, territorial services and public policies) interacted together for the enhancement of business oriented and product oriented creative industries.
SMATH program partners elaborated a common model, a transferable methodology and toolsets to generate and strengthen “Smart Atmospheres” based on capitalized materials and benchmarking with success stories, for the design and implementation of regional/local “Creative Nests”.
In Greece, Technopolis City of Athens, and more specific INNOVATHENS Hub of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, hosted us in their Creative Nest, providing us with a variety of services like working labs, study visits, coaching, mentoring and matching activities to SMEs, start-ups and entrepreneurs.
The seminar brought together around sixty (60) project leaders from eight (8) different countries, with an aim to strengthen transnational cooperation between the various projects, and to allow Cultural and Creative Industries operators and cultural engines to identify collaboration opportunities with the projects that are active in the 3 areas of social innovation: responsible tourism, social cohesion and urban regeneration.
During our participation, we received the congratulations of the organisers in regard to our business model and were offered various opportunities to partner with ventures from other countries (Italy, France).
On July 2nd, 2021, and within the context of the SMATH program, our company participated in a high-level conference, organised by the program partners, in regard to the collaboration and business opportunities when combining Culture with Innovation. You may watch the conference on demand in the following link.
Once again, we would like to thank INNOVATHENS for hosting us and allowing us to showcase and further develop our idea. The most important thing for us, was that our business plan has been evaluated by major private and public-bodies stakeholders, who verified that we are on the right path to success.
Another great moment for us regards the collaboration between our Director of Communications and Business Development, Mario Chatzidamianos, and this time as an academic researcher and data analyst, with Mr. Alexios Georgalis, International Consultant for the United Nations (UNFPA, UNICEF). Mr. Georgalis undertook the duty to create the guide entitled “12 QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ON SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH: A LIFELONG JOURNEY (by Robert Thomson & Alexios Georgalis), A Non-Formal Educational programme for young people, on Sexual and Reproductive health. 2020-2021”, which is to be published in Rome during the following months. It has been an in-depth collaboration, during which we learned a lot on a specified population group, with whom we want to engage in order to offer them an opportunity of social and professional integration in European societies.
The collaboration was hailed as a successful analysis of various indicators and thus Creators of Cosmos is happy to announce that Mr. Georgalis has accepted our invitation to be added in our specialists think-tank, as well as to become a member of our R&D team, with his field of specialty being environmental psychology and youth. His contribution will be significant as he will be producing a PhD thesis in relation to the psychological resilience factors that may help Hellenic youth to faster get back on track and become active after the outbreak shock of covid-19 epidemic. We welcome Mr. Georgalis to the team and we promise you some very interesting future announcements on our common projects.
